[Master's Orientation] A reflection on the introduction lecture

What is the lecture about?
The lecture contains two parts.
In the first part, Iina Holappa introduced about the Orientation to Master's studies course. We are introduced about the contents, requirements and learning environment of the course.
In the second part, Emma Pihlajamaa talked about minor and elective studies, internship and exchange opportunities.

What new that I learnt from the lecture?
The lecture is very useful for new Master’s students. It provides some of the most important information that I need when starting this programme, which are minor studies and elective studies, internships and exchange opportunities. It also introduces the brand new format of the Orientation to Master's studies course. The course’s expectations are very clear and understandable. Not only at the lesson but also during the first semester, I would like to look at this lecture, again and again, to keep in mind the very fundamental information of my Master’s studies.

My expectations and goals for master’s studies:
After attending this lecture, I initially set 3 goals for myself for the next 2 years. They are:
  • Complete all mandatory courses
  • Find interesting elective courses to learn to make my Master’s time more fun
  • Follow the programme carefully via meetings, emails and actively contact responsible people to not get lost in this remote learning situation
